Cut the potatoes into bite-size pieces and place in a large bowl of cold water (to keep from browning) as you cut the remaining potatoes. Once all the potatoes are cut up rinse well in cold water to remove most of the starch.
Keep the potatoes in the cold water until you are ready to cook.
Drain well before cooking.
Melt the margarine or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the drained potatoes, chopped garlic, salt, pepper and paprika to the skillet. Toss the potatoes well to coat with the butter and seasonings.
Cover the skillet and cook, tossing occasionally until the potatoes are fork tender.
Sprinkle the paprika over the cooked potatoes and stir to combine.
Serve with your favorite barbecue, chicken or beef recipes.

The potatoes: Red potatoes hold up well to cooking when cubed. You can use other varieties of potatoes like Yukon Gold. Baking potatoes are not recommended. They will fall apart when cooking in a skillet.
To prevent the potatoes from browning: Keep the potatoes in the cold water until you are ready to cook.
How long to make garlic potatoes?: This recipe takes about 45 minutes to make when using 1 to 2 inch cubes of potatoes. Cutting the potato pieces smaller will help cook this quicker. Don't cut them too small or they will turn into mashed potatoes.
