Easy Italian Sausage and Pepper Pasta

Ingredients  

  • 1 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 bell peppers (sliced thinly ( I used one red and one yellow))
  • 1 package Guy Fieri Italian Style Sausage (sliced into medallions)
  • 8 oz penne pasta (cooked al dente)
  • 24 oz pasta sauce
  • 8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions 

  • In a large skillet heat the olive oil.
  • Sauté the bell peppers and sausage for five minutes.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the pan and toss.
  • Sauté for 3 minutes, gently tossing the pasta.
  • Add the sauce to the pan and toss until all the pasta is evenly coated with sauce.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top and place a lid on the pan.
  • Reduce the heat enough to prevent scorching and allow the cheese to melt.
  • Plate and grate some fresh parmesan cheese over the top.
