Homemade Whole Grain Dijon Mustard Recipe

This easy French-style Grainy Dijon Mustard recipe does not require any special equipment. If you love grainy spicy mustard this homemade mustard recipe is for you. Delicious on a hot dogs and brats.

INGREDIENTS

White Wine White Wine Vinegar Brown Mustard Seeds Yellow Mustard Seeds Kosher Salt Granulated Sugar Water

– Prepare  the Funfetti Cake & Cupcake mix as directed on the package adding  the ½ teaspoon to the bowl with the rest of the ingredients. – Fill cupcake papers ¾ full.

COMBINE

In a glass bowl, combine white wine, white wine vinegar, brown and yellow mustard seeds, sugar, and Kosher salt. Stir thoroughly using a plastic spoon or silicone spatula to mix all the ingredients evenly.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or cheesecloth and let the mixture ferment at room temperature on the counter for 48 hours. This step allows the mustard seeds to soften and absorb the liquid for proper blending.

FERMENT

After fermenting, transfer the mixture to a food processor or blender. Pulse the mustard seeds with the liquid, gradually adding water a little at a time. Continue pulsing until the mustard reaches your preferred grainy consistency.

BLEND

If the mustard is still too thick, add extra water one teaspoon at a time until spreadable. Transfer the finished Whole Grain Dijon Mustard into a glass jar, seal tightly, and refrigerate for storage.
