Sweet Chili Mango Sauce


Love the sweet and spicy flavor of Asian dipping sauces? Try adding some fresh mango to a basic sweet chili sauce recipe for a tropical flare with this Sweet Chili Mango Sauce recipe.



  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3-inch red chili pepper,seeds & membrane included, diced finely (about 1 1/2 tablespoons)
  • 1 tablespoon finely minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon cooking sherry
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3 tablespoons cool water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup diced fresh mango


  1. Place the first 9 ingredients into a saucepan.
  2. Heat on medium until boiling.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer about 5 minutes.
  4. Increase heat to medium again and return to a boil.
  5. Mix the 3 tablespoons of water and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch.
  6. Add to the pot and stir until sauce has thickened.
  7. Add the diced mango to the pot.
  8. Reduce heat and simmer 4 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
  10. Store in a mason jar or other glass container in the refrigerator for a week.
  11. Makes one pint.
  12. Serve with fresh spring rolls, chicken or fish.
