As part of the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program I received a coupon to purchase a Buitoni Premium Frozen Meal of my choice. The meal was provided by Foodbuzz and Buitoni but all of the opinions are my own.
Buitoni has a nice assortment of Premium Frozen Meals for two. I choose the Grilled Chicken & Spinach Canneloni with my coupon. I wanted to try the Shrimp & Lobster Ravioli but I planned on having lunch with my oldest daughter and she doesn’t eat seafood.
The Grilled Chicken & Spinach Canneloni looked very good so I went with that.
I was very impressed with everything about this frozen meal. From the ease of prep to the flavor and portions.
I cooked the meal in the microwave but if you want you can cook it in the oven. I was a bit pressed for time and my daughter was starving so I went with the microwave direction. You simply thaw the sauce in the microwave then place the canneloni in a baking dish. Spread the sauce over the canneloni, cover and cook for 5 more minutes.
Towards the end I added some sliced mozzarella cheese and continued cooking in the microwave until the cheese was melted.
Sorry but I forgot to take a picture when it was done cooking!
My daughter who is a very picky eater noticed right off that the chicken were real pieces of chicken not the pressed together cubes of mystery chicken/meat that you usually find in frozen meals. The chicken, ricotta and spinach filling was very good. It did not taste like a frozen meal at all. Matter of fact it tasted homemade.
The meal says it serves two but after eating just two of the cannelloni I was stuffed.
I enjoyed the meal very much and plan on trying the shrimp and lobster ravioli next.
If you would like to try one of the Buitoni Frozen meals there is a $1.50 off coupon on the Buitoni site.
Thank you Foodbuzz and Buitoni!
