Crock Pot Rotisserie Style Chicken
Crock Pot Rotisserie-Style Chicken is moist and delicious when you slow cook and season a whole chicken in a crock pot.
What I love the most about Crock Pot Rotisserie-Style Chicken is that you can change up the flavor by rubbing a different seasoning on the outside of the whole chicken before you put it in the crock pot.
I usually buy at least one Rotisserie Style Chicken at the grocery store each week. Now that I know how easy it is to make Rotisserie Style Chicken at home in the crock pot I can save a huge amount of my weekly meal budget by buying whole roasters when they are on sale.
Then cooking a whole chicken in my slow cooker for dinner.
If you regularly buy a whole rotisserie chicken at the grocery store then you know your limited when it comes to the flavors available.
In my grocery stores, I can only find plain rotisserie chicken, barbecue rotisserie chicken, and lemon pepper rotisserie chicken.
Now that I've learned how easy it is to make a whole rotisserie chicken at home I can make so many different flavors by using my own fresh herbs and spices or by buying spice rubs.
One of my favorite spice blend brands is McCormick Grill Mates spice blends. I use the Mesquite blend every time I grill boneless chicken breasts.

How long to cook a whole chicken in a crock pot?
The amount of time it will take to cook a whole chicken in a crock pot will depend on how large the whole chicken is.
To slow cook a large 5 to 6-pound whole chicken in a crock pot it will take about 4-5 hours on high.
You can check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the chicken breast.
Chicken is cooked completely when the internal temperature has reached 165 F.

How To Make Crock Pot Rotisserie Style Chicken
Ingredients
- 5-6 lb Whole Chicken
- 3 tablespoons McCormick's Grill Mates Montreal Chicken Seasoning
- 1 medium onion
- 20 baby carrots
Directions
- First you need to clean the chicken by removing any gizzards and trimming the tail from the whole chicken.
- Rinse the chicken well under cold water being sure to clean the cavity well.
- Place the chicken on a cutting board or cookie sheet to drain.
- Slice the onion and place the slices and carrots in the crock pot to elevate the whole chicken off the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Pat the whole chicken dry with some paper towels.
- Sprinkle the seasoning all over the skin of the whole chicken then using your hands rub the spices in.
- Lift the chicken and place it in the crock pot on top of the onion slices and carrots.
- Turn the crock pot on to high. Place the lid on and slow cook for 4-5 hours.
- Check the internal temperature of the chicken after cooking for 4 hours.
- The chicken is cooked thoroughly when the internal temperature at the thickest part of the breast has reached 165 F.
- Once the whole chicken is cooked completely carefully lift it from the crock pot and place it on a serving platter.
- Using a slotted spoon lift the cooked onion and carrots from the crock pot and place them around the chicken on the platter.
- Slice to serve.
- Makes 6 servings.
