BBQ with the HTC Windows 8X Phone

I know most of you out there are buried in freezing snow or cold temperatures but here the weather has been beautiful. We had a little cold snap as we like to call them when the temps hit the 50’s in the morning. Other then that we have been having one of the warmest winters in years.
While most of you might look forward to the summer months to BBQ we love to BBQ in the winter when it is beautiful outside. When I say beautiful I mean the sun is not burning a hole in the top of your head while you are flipping the burgers.
This past weekend was one of those perfect backyard BBQ days. I think the high was 74 yesterday.
On the menu for the day was grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, my homemade macaroni salad, Little Ears corn on the cob and at the last minute I opened a can of beans.
You may have seen my post last week about the great closeup pictures my new HTC Windows 8X phone took of my lunch. Today I would test it out on our BBQ.
Besides having a great camera this phone is so interactive it is like no other phone on the market. There is a bit of a learning curve. I’ve never used Windows 8 so the whole interactive tile thing was new to me.
What I love about this phone is that I can just look at the front of my phone to see what is going on on all my social media sites. I have a tile for Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Phone, and Text messages.
I’ve added tiles for each of my kids and just by looking at my screen I can see they’re latest updates on Facebook without opening the Facebook app.
I want to share a secret with you. If you want to cook some of the best tasting beef or chicken that you ever tasted you only need two seasonings on hand. One is Garlic Salt and the other is Everglades Seasoning. I’m not sure if Everglades Seasoning is available all over the country. My brother lives in a small town in Georgia and he only found it in Walmart.
Everglades Seasoning tastes so good on beef, chicken and pork.
It also tastes very good on venison if you happen to eat venison. Yes I know you have never seen me mention cooking wild meat but I have. I’ve cook venison and wild hog many times over the years.
Simply sprinkle some garlic salt and Everglades seasoning on your hamburgers, steak or whatever meat about 30 minutes before you plan to cook. I wish I could describe it for you but I have never tasted any other seasoning even remotely close to it.
You will have to take my word and try it for yourself.
I had the rest of the food ready by the time the burgers and hot dogs went on the grill.
As soon as my husband was done cooking the meat we went in to eat. My lighting isn’t very good over our dining room table. I checked the camera settings and there is an option to shoot under different light. I changed the setting and snapped a few photos of my food.
Unfortunately my family was not being cooperative this day and wouldn’t let me take a picture of them. They are getting a bit antsy around me when they see the camera or phone in my hand!
Oh the life of a bloggers family!
Dinner was great though!
