What’s Cooking in my Kitchen

Banana Muffins with a special topping
What’s been cooking in my kitchen? Not much that’s for sure. We are moving so I have been very busy packing. Needless to say there hasn’t been much of anything cooking in my kitchen.

I wish I would have kept track of just how many boxes it took to pack up my kitchen. I’m going to guess and say easily 25 to 30. There is still stuff on my kitchen counters and out in my garage that is kitchen “stuff”.

I really can’t wait for it to be over. Can you feel my pain? Give a gal a little sympathy PLEASE! I don’t know how much more I can take LOL.

Let me tell you a little about the new house. It is a rental. The kitchen is smaller then the one I have now. I have nowhere to put my bakers rack. I have nowhere to put a cabinet that I use to store my baking stuff in. Cookies cutters, rolling pins, cake decorating supplies are what was housed in that cabinet. I have no idea how the lighting is going to be for my food photographs for the blog.  Sigh.

BUT it has a huge swimming pool. Yes I can see the look on your face. But it’s September you say. Who needs a swimming pool this time of year? I do that’s who. The temperature will be fine for swimming for a couple more months here.

And the back yard is a lush tropical paradise. The yard has 6 or more citrus trees. I’ll have to count them to be sure. There is some orange trees,  a grapefruit tree, a lemon tree, a kumquat or loquat tree. I’m not sure which one yet and I think two avocado trees. I’ll be adding a couple of banana trees, two muscadine grape vines, my herbs, some pepper plants and a couple of cucumber vines to the mix that I have growing right now.

Citrus is ripe in the winter so be watching for some fun stuff in the up coming months. I can’t wait.

My internet won’t be turned on until Tuesday so I will be unplugged for a few days. It will give me plenty of time to unpack. So I will see you when I’m all moved in!
